As an "outsider" to most of the exchanges on this list, until I get States-side exams (maybe this year out of Washington?), my opinion on US codes and engineering issues is, at best, cursory.  That said, I have been enlightened on many subjects, and have had my oft-lagging drive in engineering uplifted by the postings, in no small measure by Dennis, Harold S, Bill P, to mention but a few.
Although I practise in Canada, this opportunity to "rub" shoulders with you all has been, and I hope will continue to be, a highlight to my day.
Dennis: "Off-shore modesty" (?) means I have not responded to many of your posts, but I will be one of those who will miss your comment.  Good luck.  I wish we had more of your kind, and as vocal, here in BC!
