An undamaged, unmodified, properly bridged 18H8 is capable of safely
supporting a uniform load that causes a moment of 540 in-k, and an end
shear of 5400#. So depending on your spacing 100 psf is no problem.
You make me nervous with your mention of being cut with a torch. Even
slight modifications can significantly affect the strength. Be careful,
and remember your own statement that the SJI is "guessing".
