RE: questions!

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
One of the most interesting subjects that I know of out there that not to
many folks are aware of is the drastic difference between that recommended
by PCI for plant cast products and that used by the tilt-up industry for
site cast products for the analysis of a concrete wall panels during site
"tilting" or erection. In general PCI is more conservative and uses a
series of safety factors on some formulas while the tilt-up insert venders
use variations of some software developed at the University of Dayton (Ohio)
which is much more liberal. Why have the two groups never come together?
because they are in competition with each other.

Subject: questions!

Hello,

I am currently doing my M.S. in structural engineering. I am in the process
of brainstroming for a good thesis topic. Could anybody help me out or have
any suggestion of a fascinating topic?
Thanks.
