Design Practice Aids for Assigning Responsibilities

A couple months ago, seainters asked for design practice aids to facilitate
a better awareness of the mutual responsibilities of design-team members
during design and construction.

I mentioned the publication titled "Architectural Practice and Earthquake
Hazards: the Architect's Role in Earthquake Hazard Mitigation" which
contains several helpful checklists, guides, and other sample documents. Use
of such aids can help design teams clarify their responsibilities, and
facilitate a better match between owners' expectations and actual
performance. This was jointly developed by the AIA California Council and a
CA Seismic Safety Commission Committee. Unfortunately at the time it was
only available in hardcopy.
