BAE Exam

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
A couple of weeks ago, someone wrote to ask if and when the BAE (Building
Architectural Engineering) Exam will be given. At the recent NCSEA
Conference in San Antonio, Texas, this subject was briefly addressed by Ted
Fairfield, Vice President of NCEES. He stated that the BAE Exam was first
given last Spring, and that the attendance was disappointing. This
information is incorrect.

The BAE Exam is currently being developed by NCEES, and is on schedule to be
given for the first time in the Spring of 2002. The sponsoring organization
for this exam is AEI (ASCE's Architectural Engineering Institute). This is
an eight hour "Principles & Practice" exam. It is anticipated that it will
become the preferred exam for all AE graduates, who currently must choose
between the CE, ME, EE, or SE-I exams.

I hope that this helps whoever first asked the question!

Regards,

Stan R. Caldwell, P.E., F.ASCE
Vice President
