RE: Anchor bolt design

Thanks in advance for any response.

In using the ASD provisions for SCBF design
(1998 CBC) the bolt connection strength is
defined as 1.7Fs.  Would you use this value
for the strength of your anchor bolts (in
tension)at omega level forces or would you use
the provisions given in section 1923 (anchorage
to concrete) with the bolt tensile strength
specified as, Pss = 0.9Ab(fut) (assuming the
steel governs).  If the later, then how do you
deal with the special inspection factors (1.3
with and 2.0 without)?
