I have been using Enercalc for 12 years.  It handles many of the common
wood, concrete and steel design problems that come up in my day to day
work.  The program and technical support are both good.   My only complaint
is that each new version of the program seems to have a new set of software
bugs.  Fortunately, the bugs do not normally result in erroneous answers,
but they can be irritating.  Someone may know of a better alternative, but
I've found more use for Enercalc than any other structural software I've
