A 12M11.8 does appear in my AISC manual, but it is *not* a channel.  It is a 
flanged H-style section and is Junior Beam (12JR11.8).  Flange width is 

S = 12.0 in^3
I = 72.2 in^4
A = 3.45 in^2
r = 0.53 in

Under *Service* loading:

Allowable bending stress = 20,000 psi
Allowable shear stress = 13,000 psi
If l*d/(b*t) > 600, allowable bending stress = 12,000,000/[l*d/(b*t)]

where l = unsupported length of compression flange
      d = depth of section
      b = width of compression flange
      t = thickness of compression flange
