Re: Open Top WWTP Steel Tank Spec

Perhaps you can be more specific about what info you need. AWWA
D100-96(welded) and AWWA D103-97(bolted) tank standards may be applied to
tanks without roofs (i.e. non-potable applications). The only additional
structural concern is the wind girder requirement at the top of the shell
( an perhaps intermediate stiffeners). You may find API 650 helpful for
wind girder since open top tanks were built frequently for industrial
applications.

Has anyone out there specified an open top steel tank for a WWTP project,
similar to AWWA spec for covered steel reservoir tanks? It's about 70 feet
in diameter. Thanks for any quick ideas.
