TOPIC: Make The Complex Simple - Effective Courtroom Communication

Ms. Taylor is a trial consultant who specializes in the development of
strategic communication techniques and visual presentations for court. She
has developed and supervised the production of courtroom exhibits designed
to simplify complex engineering issues so that they can be presented to and
understood by non-technically oriented juries and members of the court.
Recent work has included structural failure and construction defect cases.

The recipient of Stanford University's John S. Knight Fellowship for
professional journalists, Ms. Taylor spent 12 years on staff at news
networks, producing documentaries and magazine pieces for "60 Minutes",
"20/20" and "Closeup" before becoming a media communications trainer and
strategic communications consultant.

Ms. Taylor's presentation will include valuable communication techniques
and strategies for presenting complex engineering information in courtroom
settings so that non-technically oriented juries may understand it. In
addition, examples of effective engineering exhibits will be presented,
including static illustrations, 2D and 3D computer animation and
freestanding models.
