What version of PCA Column accepts input files? It must be later than 2.3.

Mr. Grinsteiner,

PCA Column will let you import evaluated load combination results for a
column. Which you can then use in the design. The file format is simple
enough that you can automate the process using a word processor of
spreadsheet and save the info to a text file. Do keep in mind that PCA
Column is using ACI 318-95.

If you are using the RAM Structural System software from RAM International
you can use the Programmer's Interface toolkit to write a small program that
will extract the column loads from the model, evaluate the load combinations
and then generate a PCA input file for you. There are examples of how to do
this in the toolkit. You can get more information about the RAM Structural
System at and about the Programmer's Interface at

Another tool that will do both your analysis and concrete column design is
RAM Advanse. It is a general FEA program with integrated concrete column and
beam design capabilities.

I hope this helps you out.
