Re: Vortex Shedding

If you have a stack like structure (i.e. round), a good reference is ASME
STS-1-1992, "Steel Stacks". This has a detailed discussion on wind
induced stack vibration. I thought that vortex sheding only applies to
circular cylinders. I don't know if it happens with building like
(rectangular) structures.

Subject: Vortex Shedding

Consideration of (wind) Vortex Sheddign for buildings with certain height
to
width ratio is required by ASCE7. The subject, however seems to be beyond
the scope of the ASCE7. Would you know where documentation regarding wind
Vortex Shedding consideration can be found?

Thanks.
