This shouldn't be much of a problem assuming you don't have a depth of
beam problem and if the deck is fastened down sufficiently. It may be
that three or four bar joists will be more economical than two. Bar
joists are usually supported by the top chord, so modest cross bracing
should suffice. I have used old railroad flat cars for a similar bridge.
