One trick that will provide some relief is to calculate the stiffness of the
braced frame and shearwalls including the rotational stiffness of the
foundations.  Equations and graphs to determine the stiffness are found in the
NEHRP or in ASCE 7.  I previously had a similar situation with a long shear wall
that was taking 90 percent of loads, and managed to improve the distribution
quite a bit by including the foundation rocking.  It doesn't really answer your
core problem, but it helps a bit.
