i do not know how many of you get the "structure" magazine. of those who do
get it, i do not know how many of you actually read it. in the winter 2000
issue, there is an article about a "wind hazard reduction bill introduced in
the house". the gist of the bill is for congress to appropriate more money
for wind related disasters. it urges you to contact your congressman. asce
has set up a web site that allows you EASY contact with state politicians.
if you are interested, you can point your browser to
www.asce.org/advocacy.html. you use your asce/sei member number for the
"name" and your last name for the "password". it lets you select which
politicians to write to and it has templates which have the issue already
outlined for you or you can write your own.
