Your understanding is correct, but at the moment only for users of Microsoft
Outlook and its variants (Outlook Express, etc.) that do not have the
Microsoft provided patch. I am using Norton Antivirus and it said that
about 6 messages had the KAK virus embedded in them. It was relatively
simple to fix the problems. If the Outlook patch has been nstalled this
virus should not be a problem.
