A number of years ago, there was a paper written on the distribution of a
concentrated load thru a bond beam --- the intent, IIRC, was to determine how
deep a concrete bond beam needed to be to distribute the concentrated load
onto cmu below the bond beam and to test whether the 45 deg assumption was
valid. The finding was that the concentrated load distributed closer to 30
deg. then it did to 45 deg.
