I'm not what you might call an "animal rights whacko," but I do believe the guy has a right to live, and serves a very useful purpose.
 
My wife and I don't agree on this, but she also thinks that all spiders are to be executed immediately and without benefit of trial, whereas I think they're pretty useful to have around, too.
 
I'm weird that way. I won't HANDLE snakes and bugs, but I still like 'em.
