Spruce-Pine-Fir design values are available in AF&PA's National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS) supplement, or from the grading rules agencies.

for Spruce-Pine-Fir (grown in Canada) see
the AF&PA NDS or National Lumber Grades Authority, 406 - First Capital Place, 960 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC  phone 604-524-2393
www.awc.org is the website for AF&PA

For Spruce-Pine-Fir (South) (grown in the U.S.) see
AF&PA NDS, or
www.wclib.org for West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau, and
www.wwpa.org for Western Wood Products Association

Subject: Spruce-Pine-Fir Allowable Stress Values

Southern Yellow Pine material properties are fairly easy to obtain.  Can anyone point me to an equivalent tabulation of allowable stresses for Spruce-Pine-Fir?

Thanks!
