I told someone once that I was a civil engineer....and the response was "So
what made you decide to drive trains?"

Subject:	Engineer's Lack of Respect

I know this a little late joining this thread, but I wanted to relate an
incident that occurred this last weekend. My family and I were driving
down the road behind a loaded ready-mix concrete truck. My 9 year old
daughter, who knows that her father is a structural engineer and that I
design in concrete almost every working day of my life has a question about
the truck. She says "Mom, why does that thing on the truck keep turning
around?" I tell ya', I don't get no respect.
