specification,  you might want to get a copy of   `Specification for Seven
Wire Steel Strand Barrier Cable Applications'  from the Post-tensioning
Institute (www.post-tensioning.org).

It doesn't really have any engineering/design information other than perhaps
a reference to the limit of 18 inches on deflection, but it does tell you
helpful stuff like the cables need to be backstressed and you need to require
UV additives in the sheathing.

The 18 in. deflection limit, by the way, is to ensure that the wheels of the
car do not go off the edge of the slab.
