Not quite correct historically. There was a meeting in Malta of the three,
Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin. That is where a decision was made to not
resist the Russians entering berlin first. However, the English and
Americans preferred to be there first but their agreement at Malta
prevailed. Berlin was in the east zone divided between the allies. Therein
we have the cold war and all the other stuff since then.

That's because the movie was about the American landing at D-Day (the Brits
and Canadians landed elsewhere), and the rest of it is just platoon-level
(and smaller) battle scenes. The Allies didn't actually fight all together.
Everyone had their own objectives, their own fronts, their own salients,
etc.

On another level watch "Saving Private Ryan".  I can't remember seeing
anyone other then Germans and Americans fighting in that movie.
