Not if you actually believe it. Richard Feynman's memoir _Surely You're 
Joking Mr Feynman_ has a good example of the abuse of such techniques 
which led to the Challenger disaster. That's a helluva fine book for 
every engineer, I think, as is the companion _What Do You Care What Other 
People Think?_ The world needs more curious characters.
