RE: Excel to AutoCAD

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Martin,

In ACAD 14, go to Insert, OLE OBJECT from the pulldown menu and select excel
file.

This basically makes the table appear just like you would have in Microsoft
Word. If you double click the table, excel will open up and you can make
changes dynamically.

The drawback is getting it to print and look good. The font sizes are
sensitive to the object box grips once it is inserted.

You need to get a lisp program if you want to quickly turn the excel data
into Autocad editable (is that a word) text. Of course, then you lose the
qualities of the spreadsheet to do math.

How can I paste an Excel table into AutoCAD 2000? Our first attempts are
introducing gibberish into the text.
Please respond to mwjohnson(--nospam--at)absconsulting.com - I'm on the digest & wouldn't
otherwise see a response till at least tomorrow.
regards,
Martin
