What type of soils are you in? Hopefully non-expansive, not subject to settlement, hydro-consolidation, or whatever. I found it interesting that the soil condition was not even brought up. Perhaps one naturally assumes there are no soil problems. Perhaps I missed some prior messages.I'm just a simple soils guy.

Can I accept the footing without reinforcing steel which supporting light load private entry canopy column (about 2.5k)?  The area of the footing is about 3 s.f.  This house is located in seismic zone 3.
