Again read the definitions at the beginning of chapter 16. A balcony is
cantilevered from the main structure while a deck is supported at its
outermost points by posts or columns.

Thanks for your response, I guess what I meant is when is 40 PSF is used vs.
60 PSF. What is the exact definition of a deck and that od a balcony
