Re:roof truss connectors

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
James, the code is SBC1999. I probably missed my morning caffine intake when I incorrectly stated ASCE 7-95. With a 5/12 roof pitch, and wind perpendicular to ridge, there is no net lateral load according to SBC, but yes, per ASCE 7 there is a net lateral. Hmmmm!!

In any case, with a 50ft truss span, 2ft truss spacing, and 110mph wind, the truss mfr is way off the mark when he states a lateral load of 1500lb at each truss.
