Our typical residential loads are:
15 psf DL for floor and roof
Additional 10 psf partition load on floors. 
If the roof is tile, we will use 25 psf DL. 
Floor live load is 40 psf, typically not reduced because of small tributary areas.
Our roof live loads are usually 30 psf snow, but can be upwards of 150 psf snow depending on the area.
Usually we have prefabricated wood truss roof structures and I-joist or 2x floor framing.  With timber trusses, you may need to calculate the DL & check to see if it is in this range.  Prefabricated truss manufacturers here use 12 psf DL, but we think this in insufficient because it doesn't include a re-roofing allowance.

I need a little help from those doing residential structures.
A friend of mine is building a single story frame house.  Unfortunately, the site has poor soils conditions and he is going to have to use a pile foundation.  I told him I would do the foundation design for him.
What I need to know are what kind of design loads (gravity)are typically used for single-story residences including roof DL, wall DL, floor LL, etc.  I'm trying to avoid being overly conservative in my design.
Roof will be timber trusses with fiberglass shingles.  Exterior walls are 2x6 with vinyl or wood siding.  Interior walls are 2x4 with sheetrock.
