AB 640- CCC POWER GRAB TO SHUT DOWN CONSTRUCTION/DEVELOPMENT

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Since engineers depend on robust development and construction, I thought
I'd forward this e-mail to the California engineers out there.

The California Coastal Commission is legendary in its opposition to
development. Now it wants to supercede local control and impose its own
agenda on localities across the state.

AB 640 could come up for a vote as early as this Monday, 1/28/02 (hence
the urgency).

LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT

COASTAL COMMISSION POWER GRAB NOW MOVING IN STATE ASSEMBLY

Be aware your immediate attention and action are needed to stop a power
grab by the California Coastal Commission AT THE EXPENSE OF LOCAL
CITIZENS
AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT. Legislation will be launched this week, AB 640,
that
will silence the voice of local citizens in California's coastal
planning
process. Use the website link below to communicate with the bill's
author
and other members of the California Legislature that the Coastal
Commission already has enough power. Enough is enough!
