Re: Stamping drawings & calculations

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
We produce drawings for several architect clients using their title block
and our draftsman. Our name and address appears on the first page of the
drawing set, along with all of the other design professionals. We haven't
had complaints from any jurisdiction where these have been submitted.

I imagine if there were a claim, they wouldn't have any trouble finding us.
Either the architect would refer them to us, or they could look at the
license number of the engineer who sealed the drawings and get the
information from the state board.

It seems that the real problem here is contacting your firm to resolve
questions during construction. Hopefully the firm whose name appears on the
title block will refer them to you, rather than just winging an answer, or
worse yet, ignoring the question.

Conrad Guymon, P.E.
