Sorry for the late reply, I have been swamped for a few days.  The two
topics questioned by your group participant are not really FEA questions,
but rather general analysis questions.  To try and define the concepts as
succinctly as possible:

Push-Over Analysis:    Basically, you displace a structure incrementally
using the elastic mode shape until the first significant element yields.
Place a plastic hinge at the yield points and continue with further modal
analysis to determine new deformed shape. Amplify the new deformed shape
until a second set of hinges occurs.  Repeat the procedure until system
instability occurs.  From the above develop a behavior curve from which
ductility demand capacity ratios, inelastic story drifts, and expected
system performance can be determined.  This is a non-linear procedure with
highly variable results depending on the modeling and assumptions used in
the analysis.  For further information find a good reference on performance
based design.  I would be quickly out of my comfort zone.

P-Delta Analysis:    P-Delta analysis is a second order analysis to account
for the additional moments and shears that result from the lateral
displacement of the gravity load.  In a worst case scenario P-Delta effects
could continue in an incremental moment, increased displacement chain until
structural instability occurs.  P-Delta analysis is typically approximated
second order effects and most building codes have provisions to satisfy
P-Delta concerns.
