RE: SMRF and connections

The California Building Officials' (CALBO's" Seismic Safety Committee has
just issued an advisory on best practices for steel moment frames at the
following website. The highlights are it recommends to California Building
Officials that they call for  additional testing of SMF connections other
than dogbones as well as project-specific QA/QC delineations on plans:
