This is a running joke between me and my right-brained wife.

She always called it "cement"; it was a family tradition.

I tell her that calling concrete "cement" is like calling a cake "flour".

Jeff,

You mentioned the "cement" one -- my kids (8 & 9) are very careful to
call it a "concrete slab", not a "cement" one.  Pretty anal, but it's
one of those things that sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard!
