Re: Light Gauge Steel Seismic Design

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
A shear-resisting alternative to plywood for bracing light-gage stud framing
is Sure-Board [ www.SureBoard.com ] manufactured by Cemco. It is made using
22 ga sheet steel to which gypsum panel is bonded. The steel attaches
directly to the studs with self-tapping screws, so shear capacities are
high. The gypsum panel resists buckling, and provides a conventional
interior finish. Its ICBO-ES Report, ER-5762, is available from
www.icbo.org .
