perforated gypsum shearwall

Not in the current codes. However, the 2001 Wood Frame Construction Manual
(WFCM) for One- and Two-Family Dwellings includes provisions for design of
perforated shearwalls with gypsum for wind and seismic zones A-C. it's been
adopted by the 2003 IBC & IRC and 2002 NFPA 5000 Building Code.

Subject: perforated gypsum shearwall

Do any of the current building codes allow for the use of perforated

shearwalls sheathed with gypsum only in wind regions??

Thanks in advance,

Greg Meyer
