RE: 4 Story Wood

Our state statutes and regulations would prohibit an engineer from
practicing architecture.  Typically, the architect performs the code study
and addresses things like allowable area, area separation walls, and exiting
to name just a few.  My advise to you would be to consult with an architect
before you go too far.  You'll have your hands full just with the structural
portion.
