RE: Design Guide for Timber Crib Walls

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
The American Wood Preservers Institute published "Improved Standard Designs
Pressure-Treated Timber Crib Walls in 1969. The address was McLean, VA and
the telephone number was 703-893-4005 in 1969. It gave "designs" for walls
ranging from 15'-7" to 30'-0" including some with highway or railroad
surcharges. The "designs" were produced for AWPI by Skilling, Helle,
Christianson and Robertson of Seattle. No description of how they arrived
at the solutions is included.

Can anyone recommend a good reference or design guide for timber crib
walls?
Or timber retaining walls?

Thanks,
Michael Robertson
