You need to get the Crane Manufacturer's Association publication for all
the considerations.

Subject: crane / curved beam

i've already keyword searched www.aisc.org and www.seaint.org for these
items.

i've been given a crane beam problem with a horizontal curve in it.
just
asking if anyone knows of a design publication (preferably from aisc)
that
deals with curved beams or crane rails. i've already considered the
gravity
acceleration of the load per Blodgett's book. from the other books i've
seen, the horizontal curvature creates a "built in stress / strain". if
i
have a semi circular W8 x 10 with a 4'-0" radius, the built in stress i
come
up with is about 8.6 ksi? does anyone have the shear center solution
for a
quarter circle? in terms of the radius?

what other issues should i be considering this problem?
vloads?
impact loads?
fatigue loads?
