New footing beside existing

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I have always doweled into and connected to an existing footing when placing a new footing and column adjacent to an existing building. Is this always recommended due to differential settlement, or could there be a case where there is good soil strength so it is not required?
