RE: wood posts

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
If the person who was looking for tables on the capacity of 4 X 4
columns/posts is still looking for them, see the Fall 1992 issue of "Wood
Design Focus," for the article, "The 1991 NDS Axial Compressive Load
Capacities of Wood Studwalls Subjected to Out-of-Plane Wind Pressure," by
Kevin C. K. Cheung.

The tables are for DF-L and HF, with and without wind pressure, interior
and exterior walls, stress and deflection limitations. For strictly column
loads, the table includes for each species, 4 X 4 Stud, Standard and No. 2
grades, and 6 X 6 No. 2 grade, for column heights of 8', 10', 12', and 16'.
For each height, values are listed for DOL of, 1.00, 1.15, and 1.25.
