Lag Screws -- Shear Capacity in plywd

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I want to make a Shear/Tension connection of a steel fixture to an existing plywood sheathed wood floor.  The points and threads of the lag screws will be embedded in wood blocking under the plywood sheathing -- tension will be developed into the blocking, which will be connected to the floor joists by framing clips.  Shear will be developed into the sheathing by the lag screw shank where it passes through the plywood.  Are there any published values or tests for this kind of installation?  Or as least for the shear -portion of this kind of installation?
Using the NDS formulas, are there published dowel bearing strength values for plywood?
