RE: Frank Lloyd Wright

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I have a friend who is an Architect whose parents own a FLW house. They live there on the week ends in the country. The house is on 10 acres near several of the Chicago Bears players in Barrington Hills, IL.

The house is high maintenance. The doors are thin and short because FLW was a little guy.

The roof has a small slope, but still has wood shingles on it that leak all the time.

The bedrooms had almost no closet space with accordion doors to the hallway.

I think the barn used to house the horses had more going for it than the FLW house.

Many Architects think Frank Lloyd Wright was a true visionary who could do no wrong. What is your opinion of him and his accomplishments?

A light discussion topic for a Friday......
