Perhaps he's counting the decimals as two of the six figures.  Or maybe he's actually building 6 figurines as a hobby.  Obviously, he has nothing to do with structural engineering - Chem. Eng. maybe?.

My son is a 30 year old P.E. making six figures.

Enough with the philosophy talk, invite him to post on the list and let us know his strategies!  I’d bet that’s about 2x what most 30 year old PEs make, unless you mean his PE license is 30 years old, making him about 55.
