Lag Screw, Screw, & Nail Multiple Shear Connections

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
The 1997 NDS has a section regarding multiple shear connections in the bolt
section only and not the lag screw, screw, or nail section. The 2001 NDS has
combined all fasteners into one chapter called "Dowel-Type Fasteners". In this
chapter, section 11.6 is entitled "Multiple Fasteners" and does not differiente
between bolts, lag screws, screws, and nails. Is it appropriate to use the
same design methodology for lag screws, screws, and nails as for bolts
attaching more than two members together?
