RE: foreigners... gotta love them

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Chuck,
You are correct. We should deter from the original question about jobs,
the future of structural engineering and what we are seeing that may be
a trend to outsource services to bring wages down. But what we need to
do is to entice SEAOSC or any of the other chapters interested in
starting an online committee that can address some of the issues and
offer creative solutions. These need not be codified nor do they have to
be laws, it is much easier to create ideology that can become a standard
of practice for professional engineering in terms of working together to
protect our jobs in the United States and show that there is no need for
H-1B or outsourcing.

Sorry to have deviated and made this an unintentional political issue -
it is not. Both sides have supported Global Economies and the movement
of multi-national firms to outside the United States where the labor
market is cheaper.

Let's get back on track.

Thanks for the comments,
Dennis

I had a queasy feeling when you started this discussion. In principle,
it was an appropriate subject but I hope you see where it lead. Can we
please keep political discussions off of this list?
