Yes, and he's had to take the political flak for it. I feel kind of funny
defending W., since I'm rather ambivalent about him (except that the
alternative turns my knees to jelly).

At least he's DOING SOMETHING about the incessant attacks upon life and
liberty--which he's constitutionally bound to do.

Contrast that with Mr. Clinton, who did NOTHING when OBL attacked the WTC in
'93, NOTHING when Khobar Towers was blown up, NOTHING when the U.S.S. Cole
was attacked, and nothing on the many occasions of terrorism against U.S.
targets in general.

The political class has been STUPID about the whole question of national
security--and still is. Even Mr. Bush isn't budging on the illegal
immigration question, which DOES pose a threat to national security, never
mind all this hand-wringing about lost jobs.
