Subject: Shear Transfer from roof diaphragms....

Also, is it common to have roof trusses at 24" o.c. and wall
studs at 16"
o.c.? How is the double top plate analyzed for this situation?

A quick analysis for most roof loads and typical residential spans shows
this arrangement to be no problem - thus it's allowed in prescriptive
code sections.

I'd only check this for heavy snow or unusual loads.
