RE: Fee for Custom Residence

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
This sounds like a MasterCard commercial

Getting a $3M dollar job: $5k of dirty marketing to immoral dirty capitalist ba$tards.
Deciding on fee: A horrendous 1% that sounds like alot but not when considering a real estate agent with no liability would get 6%
Using cheap foreign labor: $3k
Keeping the remaining 30k-5k-3k= $22k for yourself: Priceless

Tongue removed from cheek.

In the B'ham area about 1/2% is more in line. I had heard 1% was common out West though. Now that the new IBC will require us to do most of the same type of design as you Western boys we'll have to start trying to up the fee too. Hey, this code ain't half bad afterall!

Good point Mr. Wright...if you outsource the project to India, you can still
Charge the $30k, pay the overseas engineers $3k and make
A 90% profit.

Capitalism...it's FANTASTIC.

Haven't you been listening? Outsource everything or you'll be haunted by
the ghost of Ayn Rand to the rest of your days. ;->
