The psedo-forces used in a P-Delta analysis are self balancing, so static check *must* be satisfied.
I believe this is what you meant in your first post. But STAAD Knowledge Base contradicts this statement.

As for combination of P-Delta and Response Spectrum analysis, I fully agree with you that it is not possible to do so using Pseudo-forces.

But then I did a search on STAAD site and came up with the following:

h)If a RESPONSE SPECTRUM is specified within a load case or the MODAL CALCULATION command is used, dynamic analysis is performed.


Again, this contradicts what you said in your second post.

It appears that you have an excellent understanding of the subject. Perhaps STAAD can benefit if documentation/software staff interacted more with you.
