Re: Rebar locator

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Our company has had a few over the years.  We currently have a Proceq  Profometer.  This works well in 8 inch CMU but may not read smaller bars in 10 and 12 inch block, particularly if the bar is not well centered.  I'd recomend the Proceq as a good reliable bar locator.  I've played with Hilti's rebar locator but it has a lot of features I would not use and was about 2-3 times the cost of the Proceq. We also have a couple of the cheapie Zircon metal locators for finding no-brainers like veneer ties and joint reinforcement.
Good luck,

Subject: Rebar locator

I am trying to get our company to purchase a rebar locator.  I?m not sure why they don?t have one already but???  Does anyone have any recommendations as to make and model?  I would be looking for something to be used up to maybe 12? thick CMU or concrete finding depth and size.
